How to Prepare for your Wedding Day Hair and Makeup

So, it's getting close to the big day and you're probably feeling a mix of excitement and stress. No worries, I've got you covered with some tips on how to prep for your wedding day hair and makeup services.

First up, the night before. Make sure you wash and blow-dry your hair, so your stylist has a clean canvas to work with. This is also a good time to do a face moisture mask if you're into that kind of thing. Just make sure you're not using any new products the week before the wedding. You don't want any unwanted surprises popping up on your big day.

Another important thing to remember is to limit the alcohol. You don't have to swear off all alcohol the week before the wedding, but just be conscious of how much you're drinking. You don't want to dehydrate your body before you want to look your best. And speaking of looking your best, make sure you get plenty of sleep. It's probably the single most important thing you can do for your body and beauty on the big day.

On the morning of the wedding, start off by drinking two full glasses of water to rehydrate your body. Then be mindful of what you're drinking next. Coffee is delicious, but it can also be dehydrating and full of sugar. Instead, try a wholegrain muffin and eggs with fruit for a little something in your stomach that will give you good energy and fuel to start the day.

Go through your regular morning routine of brushing and washing your face and moisturizing. If you didn't wash your hair the night before, go ahead and do it this morning and make sure it's completely dry before your services. Don't apply any product to your hair. If you have any glow masks or under eye/face patches, now is a good time to apply them.

A few additional tips: make sure your party is on time to keep everything running smoothly and have a large, open space with electrical outlets and tables for the artists to set up and work. Wear a shirt that's easy to remove after your beauty services, like a robe or an open neck or button-down shirt. And finally, have your bridal party choose inspiration photos of the looks they want so the artists have an idea of what they're working with.
