Galveston Elopement Styled Shoot

Are you planning your wedding or elopement and still searching for the perfect location? Take a small tour of Historic Galveston Island with us on our beach elopement themed styled shoot.

After checking into your bed and breakfast, The Carr Mansion: a carefully restored 19th century Greek Revival mansion, your professional on-location hair and makeup artist will arrive at their confirmed time to begin setting up.

The room photographed is The Grocer, named for Herman Marwitz, a Galveston businessman who owned a successful ship chandler and grocer business for the Galveston area who purchased the Carr Mansion property for his daughter & son-in-law (see The Newlyweds suite). This bright, airy suite has a clean, crisp vibe and all the natural light magic.

One thing to note when having a more intimate wedding; without the complications of a large bridal party, the focus remains on you and your fiancé. Ask your artist about services for the Groom and cast away any doubt that your beau won’t be camera ready! While you’re getting dressed, it’s the perfect time for your artist to take care of your partner’s needs and still be back to fix any wardrobe mishaps and pin your veil.

After hair and makeup, it’s time to slide into your wedding day digs! Lucky you, your custom designed wedding gown from Renegade Bridal is being hand delivered! How beautiful is the backdrop of The Grocer suite for the Bride and Groom’s getting ready portraits with all of that natural light? After getting dressed, have your photographer take you around the property grounds to take advantage of all the inviting beauty the Carr Mansion has to offer.

For this shoot we worked with Galveston wedding, elopement and portrait photographer Dawn, of Degrees North Images. Dawn creates and captures magical experiences for playful, adventurous couples so the photographs from their own personal love story can serve as souvenirs and inspire them long into their marriage.

It’s time for the ceremony! One of my favorite locations in Galveston for elopements and photography sessions is in Beachtown, a hidden oasis located on the east end of Galveston Island. It’s one of the rare spots along the Gulf Coast where nature is making the beaches wider.

Your designated area of the beach for your ceremony is beautifully decorated with floral arrangements from All The Pretty Things. Remember how the focus is all on you with this intimate ceremony? You booked a package for touch-ups with your artist, and they are on-location for all your touch-up needs and to install your floral crown that was delivered to your ceremony location! How amazing is that floral crown though? A real show stopper.

Are you starving yet? It’s been a big day! Let’s run down the seawall to our dinner reservations at BLVD Seafood. Executive Chef Chris Lopez has curated a savvy menu showcasing fresh Gulf seafood, coastal heritage dishes and soulful southern favorites.

Start off with an adult beverage from their seasonal cocktail menu, and a shareable appetizer like their smoked salmon crostini. Their house salad tastes just as beautiful as it looks so don’t skimp on your greens when you visit! For an entree, their blackberry pork chop is out of this world with a blackberry demi-glace, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Don’t forget that sweet tooth, their traditional bread pudding gives you all the homecooked warm fuzzies.

Pleasure Pier is in view and walking distance of the restaurant and the sun has just begun to set. Let’s run across the street for an opportunity to take some photos on the beach with the sunset, and pleasure pier in the background.

We’ll end the evening on pleasure pier amongst the bright lights. Have you ever ridden a Ferris Wheel at night over-looking the Gulf of Mexico? It’s breathtaking!

What a beautiful day on Galveston Island celebrating love! Many thanks to our real-life couple Marino and Ashley, Ashley being an agency model with Page Parkes.
